The Rules
>>>These rules apply on any non-RPG boards. For RPG rules, see the "RPG Rules" thread.
1. Absolutely no mature, profane, racist, sexist, or otherwise prejudiced/inappropriate statements, images, or other expressions.
1.5. Swearing should also remain to a minimum, swear words are censored with little asterisks in them, but...
2. Respect the opinions and beliefs of fellow members. If you have to fight, please fight over PMs, but we prefer that you do not fight at all.
2.5. We like you to particularly respect the staff. They're generally trying to make your life on this website better. They work hard. Be nice.
3. Flaming or bashing of members or websites is unnecessary and unacceptable. Please do not respond to a provocative statement by arguing or insulting the person who made it. It only serves to encourage them. Instead, contact an admin. If you must criticize, do so constructively.
Example:
Instead of: I hate your art, it sucks
Say: Maybe you could change "blankety-blank" and it would make your art better.
4. Spamming and double posting are annoying and generally not a good idea. Please refrain from doing so except in designated areas, and use the modify button rather than double posting.
5. i HAte sentences Written lykt His .TheY annoy Me 2 DEATH!!!!1!11!
>>>I hope you got the point of that. Basically, to a certain extent abbreviations and bad grammar are okay. I'm not expecting English paper grammar. However, I like spaces to be in the right places, and capitalization should be roughly correct.
6. Don't take IRL issues out on the poor innocent RPers on this site. I'm sure there'll be enough nice people out there willing to talk to you about it, but don't bite their heads off.
7. We like to keep things to one account per IP address. It's neater. And everyone's happier. If you absolutely NEED 2 accounts, talk to me, but it's unlikely you'll be granted that privilege.
8. Stealing or claiming the work of others for your own is UNACCEPTABLE, as is modifying the work of others and claiming it as all your own without giving credit. We like image credits here.
NOTE: This rule applies to writing as well as art. Copying anything someone else has written word for word without giving them credit is plagiarism.
9. Dictators are called dictators for a reason. The administrators have been granted absolute power on their website and their word is the law, but if any are seen abusing their power, these incidents should be reported to 'rose (username: admin).
10. We like to know if you're going to be inactive for a period of time. We do hold activity checks to clean out extra accounts.
The Penalties
The penalties for breaking above rules are as follows.
Rules with italicized numbers
1st offense: Discussion with admin and usually 2 week ban
2nd offense: Permanent ban
Rules with bolded numbers
1st offense: Warning from admin
2nd offense: 1 week ban
3rd offense: Month long ban
4th offense: Permanent ban
Rules with underlined numbers
Warning at each offense up to #10
10th offense: 3 day ban
Further offenses result in a 3 day ban each.
Rules without formatting
No penalty, but any misunderstanding caused by breaking these rules is up to you to fix. (ex. YOU must take initiative to contact the admin if your account has been accidentally deleted because you did not warn us of a vacation, etc.)
